About Good Law Project

Good Law Project uses the law for a better world. Our mission is to protect the environment, uphold democracy and ensure members of marginalised groups are not left behind by society. We hold the Government, firms and other public bodies to account through legal challenges and campaigns for positive change. As a campaigning organisation, we are outspoken and challenge injustice.

Over the past few years, we have led a number of successful legal challenges to protect the interests of the public. We had a primary role in overturning the prorogation of Parliament in 2019. Earlier this year, we successfully challenged the Government’s operation of a fast track ‘VIP lane’ for awarding lucrative PPE contracts to those with political connections, and our campaigning played a key role in the Met Police opening an investigation into Boris Johnson over the Partygate scandal. In July, we campaigned alongside Friends of the Earth and Client Earth to deliver a rare win for the climate: the High Court found the Government’s Net Zero strategy was unlawful and ordered Ministers to update it.

We raise funds directly from the public for our work in the public interest and operate on a not-for-profit basis. We are a young, fast-growing organisation, which values bravery, honesty and decisiveness. We recognise the value of our employees, individually and collectively. We entrust our commitment and investment in their welfare.
